3.Sanitation Literacy Campaign

There is a need for continuous awareness creation to sustain behavioural change among the beneficiaries as well as ensure regular maintenance for the infrastructure already created. The need for good hygiene and sanitation, both at community and individual level has been necessitated.)






4.Village Disaster Management Programme

Development of Village Disaster Management Plan is the most important ingredient in implementing Community Based Disaster Risk Management in any area. It refers to a list of activities a village agrees to follow to prevent loss of life, livelihoods and property in case a disaster. It also identifies in advance, action to be taken by individuals in the community so that each one knows what to do when a disaster strikes or when a warning is received. The main objective is to empower the community to deal with disasters on their own as a way of life.






5.Producer Company

We have Formed 21 Project Management Comity (PMC) in 5 G.P and managing the project through these PMCs and created a Farmers Producer Organization called "Hatikote Progressive Producer Company Limited".There are 10 Board of Directors in the FPO, from which 1 managing director and 4 directors exist. We aredoing several type of business through this FPO i.e. Goat sale, Turmeric, Spices and Puffed Rice (Mudhi) etc.






6.Awareness Programme on Road Safety

VARD organized the various activities under the road safety programme in Baripada Block. Most of the programme is in school students with involving the community member and women SHG member towards the importance of safety use of Road and its proper consciousness of the various rule and signals of the safety drive.






7.MEDP

VARD organized MEDP Training on Sabai Craft making at Ambajoda under Betnoti & Sakua under Badasahi block by getting financial support from NABARD. 60 woman SHG members benefited in this programme.






8.LEDP

VARD organized LEDP Training on Sabai Craft making at Rangamatia, Sankhabhanga & Badpeta in Sankhabhanga GP under Baripada Block by getting financial support from NABARD. 90 woman SHG members benefited in this programme.






9.Sanitation Literacy Campaign

VARD organized Sanitation literacy campaign at Sakua under Barasahi & Badsole under Baripada block by getting financial support from NABARD. 120 woman SHG members benefited in this programme.






10.MAYURBHANJ SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

  • 11.EYE CAMPS FOR DRIVERS

    VARD organized the eye testing camps for the community mainly maintained their livelihood by engaging them in the driving occupation. The programme is organised under the financial assistance and guidance from R.T.O. Mayurbhanj. Health checkups, eye testing, Blood pressure, Blood groups etc were carried out by the qualified doctors to achieve the main object of the programme.






    12.ROAD ACCIDENT HELP LINE

    VARD organized this programme on behalf of Odisha Road Safety Society, Cuttack under guidance by R.T.O. Mayurbhanj.






    13.ORGANIC AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMME

    Agriculture is one of the major activities where women were actively involved. In mountain agriculture is consider being a marginal activity as it pays back scarcity, but at the same time it is the most important activity as it is directly link with the sustenance of the village. Due to lack of opportunity the activity in the hills pays one-day food after three days labours. Thrust on the high productivity has never been attempted for next many decades. Appropriate technology intervention can play role for better output and can also reduce the drudgery of the women. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. Most of the people were depend on agriculture. For increase in productivity the farmers use chemical pesticides, chemical fertilizer which cause loss of productivity which is shortage of food grained yearend. Most of the agriculture land was washed up by food and become unfertile soil, result is less agroproduct . VARD organized awareness, workshop and farmers training camp on use of bio fertilizer and biopestisides in their agriculture land for better production in block area of Mayurbhanj district.






    14.FAMILY COUNSELLING

    Controlling the family violence cases at community level it is one of the most challenging programme of VARD. VARD organising various village meetings, seminars motivating to women and men to use contraceptive and promotion of condom as a family planning procedure. Mobilising the Govt. and allied departments to work jointly to overcome the situation.






    15.FARMER'S CLUB

    The farmer's club promoted by VARD at khasadiha during 2013-14 is functioning properly. The organization as aregular contact with club and provide various agricultural informations about Govt. schemes.






    16. S.H. GROUPS

    VARD organised Family-2750,Village-49,SHG-251 groups at Hatikote, Budhikhamari, Badjod, Sankhabhanga & Bhagabatachandrapur G.P under Baripada block.






    17.WOMEN & GENDER EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

    There is a need to generate self-employment among the venerable group women, tribal and disabled people. Instead of selling the raw products to traders at margin rates they can prepare finished or semi-finished products and sell them to the government marketing department, such as ORMAS, DSMS, ITDA and allied departments. VARD also provide technical support to preparation of finished products. The program mainly strengthen the activities like ; capacity building, gender empowerment etc as a main object of VARD. The community now playing as catalysts for the village development plan and involve in various activities related to health and development
